Cindy Anderson, Ph.D., R.N., F.A.A.N.

Cindy Anderson is the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Educational Innovation at the College of Nursing at The Ohio State University. Previously, she served as the Associate Dean for Research at the University of North Dakota. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Salem State College (MA), a Master of Science degree in Parent-Child Nursing and a PhD in physiology from the University of North Dakota. Dr. Anderson is board certified as a women’s health nurse practitioner. The focus of her research is on the study of future cardiovascular consequences in mothers who experience hypertension during pregnancy and in their children. Dr. Anderson investigates how bio-psycho-social factors during pregnancy can influence the maternal and infant epigenome, establishing future risk for health and disease. Cindy Anderson has been recognized for her teaching, research and service. She is a fellow in the American Academy of Nursing and American Heart Association. She was a member of the first cohort of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Nurse Faculty Scholars and is now a member of the National Advisory Committee. Her most recent publications are in Nursing Outlook and Biological Research in Nursing.
