Dr. Campbell, representing the American Academy of Nursing, urges policy changes to protect domestic violence victims

Jackie Campbell, PhD, RN, FAAN, testified in front of the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee, asking Congress to strengthen laws to keep domestic abusers from getting guns. As part of the Everytown for Gun Safety effort and Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar’s Protecting Domestic Violence and Stalking Victims Act, Campbell cited her domestic violence research showing the glaring loopholes in the Violence Against Women Act that allow domestic abusers and stalkers to buy guns.
