Devon Berry, Ph.D., R.N.
Devon Berry is Executive Associate Dean of the Oregon Health & Science University School of Nursing. His research interests include two main areas: (1) the relationship between religiousness, spirituality, and health outcomes; and (2) determinants of global health. After receiving his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Cedarville University (Cedarville, Ohio), he continued his education at the Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing at Case Western Reserve University (Cleveland, Ohio), where he completed his Master of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner. The relationships formed at the FPB School of Nursing created the opportunity for him to participate in both domestic and international mental health research, culminating in a year spent abroad consulting with nurse scientists in South Korea and Italy. Following this experience, he began teaching psychiatric mental health nursing to BSN students. After gaining several years of experience in this area, he left to pursue his PhD at the University of Washington (Seattle, Washington).
