Jing Wang, Ph.D., M.P.H., R.N., F.A.A.N.

Jing Wang, PhD, MPH, RN, FAAN is an Associate Professor at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston School of Nursing. She received her BMed in Nursing from Jiangxi Medical College in China. She completed her PhD in Nursing, Masters in Public Health and Nursing, and Graduate Certificate in Clinical and Translational Science from the University of Pittsburgh. Her research interest is using emerging technology to increase patient adherence to chronic disease self-management regimens and improve patient outcomes. Her RWJF research project will focus on connecting mobile device collected self-monitoring information with an existing national electronic health record system for diabetes education to facilitate behavioral goal setting and monitoring in diabetes, which will be tested in a multi-site randomized clinical trial in Houston, TX and Pittsburgh, PA. She currently teaches community health to BSN students and clinical and epidemiological research to MSN students. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, American Diabetes Association, Society of Behavioral Medicine, Asian American and Pacific Islander Nurses Association, and the National Diabetes Education Program Behavior Change Task Group.
