Lusine Poghosyan, Ph.D., M.P.H., R.N., F.A.A.N.

Dr. Lusine Poghosyan, PhD, MPH, RN, is an Assistant Professor at Columbia University School of Nursing. She completed her doctoral and post-doctoral training at the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing where she was a fellow at the Center for Health Outcomes and Policy Research. Dr. Poghosyan’s research investigates primary care Nurse Practitioner (NP) workforce and policy and organizational impact on NP workforce and practice. Her studies have been funded by the American Nurses Foundation and the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality. Dr. Poghosyan developed the first NP-specific survey instrument, the Nurse Practitioner Primary Care Organizational Climate Questionnaire (NP-PCOCQ), to measure NP practice environments.  Her work has been published in Nursing Research, Policy, Politics & Nursing Practice, and Health Care Management and Review. Dr. Poghosyan is a member of the Advisory Board for the AcademyHealth Interdisciplinary Research Group on Nursing Issues (IRGNI). She served as the Chair of the Evolving Primary Care and Workforce Models session at the AcademyHealth Annual Research Meeting in 2013. Dr. Poghosyan was the recipient of the PhD award from The Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International Xi Chapter in 2008 and the New Investigator Award from IRGNI in 2012.
