Todd Ruppar is an Associate Professor of Nursing at Rush University College of Nursing. Dr. Ruppar conducts both meta-analysis and clinical research to quantify the various influences on adherence to cardiovascular medications and to then improve patient outcomes by developing effective interventions through which patients and providers can work together to address non-adherence to cardiovascular medications. He completed BSN and MSN degrees at Saint Louis University, a PhD at the University of Missouri, and a post-doctoral fellowship in medication adherence at University o the Leuven, Belgium. Dr. Ruppar’s work has been funded by the John A Hartford Foundation’s Building Academic Geriatric Nursing Capacity program, the University of Missouri Interdisciplinary Center on Aging, the University of Iowa Hartford Center for Geriatric Nursing Excellence, and the PhRMA Foundation. He serves on committees for the cardiovascular nursing councils of the American Heart Association and European Society of Cardiology. Dr. Ruppar has also had leadership and service roles in the Midwest Nursing Research Society, serves as a PCORI grant reviewer, and reviews manuscripts for several peer-reviewed journals. He teaches undergraduate public health nursing and PhD courses on health behavior change research and meta-analysis methods.
